Victorian Pine Huffer Cupboard, circa 1830
A huffer cupboard was traditionally used as a food warmer. The inside is open and lined with metal so it could be placed against a fireplace or stove to keep plates warm. The front has a little door that can be opened to remove plates for serving. It is on casters so it could be rolled back and forth from in front of the stove or fireplace.
This piece is so fun and unique! We love the curved front and it would make a most handsome bar or fabulous bookshelf! The metal lining has some wear consistent with age and use (see photos).
Dimensions are 46"W x 13.5"D x 46.5"H.
